Relying on the selective adsorption capacity of molecular sieves for gases, VPSA Oxygen Generator achieves air separation for oxygen production. Its working process is to adsorb nitrogen at low pressure and desorb and regenerate under vacuum conditions, cyclically producing oxygen with a purity of 90%-95%. The equipment adopts an intelligent control system to automatically adjust parameters, and its modular design supports flexible expansion, which is suitable for various needs such as industrial oxygen-enriched combustion and medical oxygen supply.

Detailed Maintenance Practices
Regular and standardized maintenance is essential to extend the service life of VPSA Oxygen Generators and ensure stable performance. Daily maintenance tasks are simple and can be completed by on-site operators. Every shift (8 hours), check the pressure gauge, flow meter, and purity analyzer readings, and record them in the operational log. Clean the air pre-filter with compressed air (0.4-0.6MPa) to remove dust and debris—this prevents clogging and ensures sufficient air intake.
Weekly maintenance focuses on component inspections. Inspect the seals of the adsorption tower, pipelines, and valves for air leakage: apply soapy water to the joints, and if bubbles appear, tighten the bolts or replace the seal gasket. Check the noise and vibration of the blower and vacuum pump—normal operating noise should be ≤85dB(A); if there is abnormal noise, it may indicate bearing wear or loose parts, which should be inspected and repaired in a timely manner.
Additionally, check the oil level and oil quality of the lubricating system—if the oil turns black or has impurities, replace it immediately.
Monthly maintenance involves more in-depth checks. Calibrate the oxygen purity sensor using a standard gas cylinder (with a known purity of 93% or 95%) to ensure accurate readings. Test the pressure relief valve: manually open the valve to check if it can release pressure smoothly, and ensure it closes tightly after pressure relief. Inspect the electrical connections for looseness—tighten the terminal screws to prevent poor contact and electrical faults. Clean the heat dissipation fins of the motor and control cabinet to ensure good heat dissipation.
Annual maintenance is a comprehensive inspection that may require the assistance of professional technicians. Disassemble and clean the air pre-treatment system, including the filter element, dryer, and oil remover. Replace the filter element if it is severely worn. Inspect the molecular sieve: open the manhole of the adsorption tower to check the sieve’s condition—if it is caked or discolored, it needs to be replaced. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the blower and vacuum pump: disassemble the motor, check the bearing wear (replace if the clearance exceeds 0.05mm), and clean the impeller to remove dust and oil stains. Calibrate all instruments and sensors to ensure their accuracy.
Maintenance of Critical Components
The molecular sieve is the most important component of the VPSA system, and its maintenance directly affects oxygen production efficiency. In addition to regular inspections, measures should be taken to prevent moisture absorption: ensure the air pre-treatment system is functioning properly (dew point ≤-40°C), and avoid shutting down the system for long periods—if the equipment is not used for more than 7 days, fill the adsorption tower with nitrogen to keep it dry.
When replacing the molecular sieve, select the same type as the original (lithium-based or zeolite) to ensure consistent adsorption performance. The replacement process should be carried out in a dry environment to avoid moisture absorption during installation.
The PLC control system requires careful maintenance to prevent failures. Keep the control cabinet clean and dry, and avoid placing objects on top of it. Regularly back up the system parameters to a USB drive—if the control system malfunctions, the parameters can be restored quickly. Inspect the wiring harness for aging or damage every year, and replace it if necessary. Update the control system software according to the manufacturer’s recommendations to improve performance and fix potential bugs.
The blower and vacuum pump are the power components of the system, and their maintenance focuses on lubrication and wear. Use only the lubricating oil recommended by the manufacturer—do not mix different types of oil. Replace the oil filter element every 6 months to keep the oil clean. Check the V-belt (if equipped) for tension and wear—adjust the tension if it is loose, and replace the belt if it is cracked. For the motor, check the insulation resistance every year (should be ≥1MΩ) to prevent short circuits.
